I love the quote that Will attributes to Archidamus, but unfortunately it is not to be found anywhere in Thucydides' _History_. Apparently he got it from the AF Chief of Staff, who used it in his opening article in the first issue of Air University's new journal, _Strategic Studies Quarterly_. Several of my colleagues at SAASS (all historians) pointed out that the quote is actually from an Irishman with long service in the British Royal Army, William F. Butler.
